Book Wedge

How to wrap paper around a circle-shaped board?
I am making a hardcover Book that will open up in the shape of a circle (when it it closed it will be a semi-circle). Can somebody please tell me how I can fold the edges of the cover paper over the circular boards as smoothly as possible? I imagine there is some way of either pleating or cutting wedges out of the paper before folding, or something, in order to do this, but I can't figure it out!
Thanks!
Okay, take your cover paper and cut it into a circle 1-2" larger all the way around than your cover. Remember how big it is. Cut lines every 1/2" or so (varies depending on how big your cover is to start) all the way around your cover paper. They should all by in the direction of the center, and equal to the overhang, minus ~1/8" or so. Put paste on the outer edge, where your cut tabs are. Fold each one individually over the edge of your cover, smothing the edges. Use a small wooden roller around the entire outer edge, and use it to bevel the corners. Cut out a piece of inside cover paper about 1/4"-1/2" smaller than your cover, and use it to cover the edges of your tabs.

Calling Up Spirits
$15.98 Calling Up Spirits is ostensibly surf guitar legend Dick Dale's attempt to translate Native-American musical traditions into instrumental rock. When you get down to it, however, it's just guitar pyrotechnics with a slight patina of tribal ritualism. There's really no reason for anyone but the hardest of hardcore Dale fetishists to own this record; its best song, "The Wedge Paradiso," sounds identi... |
