Where can I buy a generic ac adapter/charger for my HP laptop?
My DV6589us laptop's charger doesn't work anymore and I need a replacement. The DV6589us is part of HP Pavilion DV6000 series. I recently purchased a charger from amazon and doesnt work with my laptop. I am highly upset. Help me plz!!!

I would check your local Radio Shack or Best Buy.
They should have universal power adapters that come with multiple ends... one of those should fit your computer (if not, check out the next paragraph). Just make sure that you match the universal supply to the power requirements of your laptop. For example, if your laptop requires 16.5V to work make sure the universal supply is capable of delivering exactly 16.5V of power. The nice thing about buying one local is if the thing doesn't work with your computer, you can always return it!
If you can't find one locally (for example, if your HP uses a proprietary plug type you just can't find in a universal kit), try the following website:
