Interpretation of EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FAVOUR cover art with fantasy scene?
I am curious as to how you guys interpret the scene of the cover painting of the Moody Blues recording EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FAVOUR and what it depicts and symbolizes.
Do you guys see it as a generic fantasy scene or as a specifically Arthurian scene? For some reason, I see it as Arthurian.
Also, what do you think is the significance of the figures in the back with the teddy bear and the rose? If this is indeed an Arthurian scene, then I take them to be maybe pages or squires who for some reason are jealous of and antagonistic toward the boy who will grow up to become King Arthur, but I don't know what the significance is of the accessories ththe accessories they are holding.
Another thing is, I think that the gemstones that the magical old gentleman (Merlin?) is showing the blond youth (Young Arthur?) are supposed to be enchanted crystals rather than ordinary jewels. What is your take on this point?
Now, what are some of your interpretations?
I always thought that is had no real meaning but was one of those pretentious 'serious rock' covers. Sorry. I assign nothing much to that cover.
