I want to crochet a blanket with a Ziggy Stardust-esque pattern?

So basically I want to crochet a white blanket with a giant lightening bolt on it like this:

This has been a fun, if a bit unproductive, search! Here is one pattern I've come up with -- unfortunately, it does not have a PICTURE with it, so I'm not sure how it should look when it is done.
