Would a guy like this gift?

I'm thinking of giving a guy I like this gift - a Handmade Journal/sketchbook. I'm planning on using a thick Black Leather material and either using ribbon or metal fasteners to hold it together. I'll use thick quality Handmade Paper with torn edges in the inside. I'm also thinking of giving the pages a light stain with tea to give it a vintage look. The first page and last page will have collage images of us together when we were younger and/or artsy pictures of myself. Then, I'll add an inspirational quote on the first page as well.

I think it's beautiful, and ANY artist would appreciate it. If he knew you when you were younger, I am assuming he knows you fairly well? And if so, he should only love it even more for the effort into it. If he does not, then more likely than not he will take notice, but not be creeped out.
My only suggestion is, if it's to be a sketchbook and he is an artist, don't use tea. White pages are almost always better for sketching, and definitely better for color. You could, however, do the Inspirational page and maybe the last page in tea, to give it the nice look, while still leaving most pages white for drawing.
