My mini wiener dog ate a cherry pit? What will happen, im so nervous?

im so nervous i think my mini dachshund ate a cherry pit? what will happen because she is a little dog? HELP

Oh dear. Along with grapes and raisins, which all dogs seem to love, cherry leaves, stems, and pits are also toxic. I know because we have 3 greyhounds, all of them very happy to chomp on pits if we decided to have a "pit spit" contest, so we have to choose our targets very carefully indeed.

I would imagine that one cherry pit wouldn't be an issue, but continuing to consume them definitely would. Watch your dog for any unusual signs of illness: vomiting, diarrhea, heavy panting, decrease in vigor, and act accordingly.

If the pit was consumed whole, there's not likely an issue; as other posters have said, it'll likely pass through without being digested. If, however, you hound chomps like our hounds, be careful.
