can small dogs be outside dogs?
So i have a small dog about the same size as a chihuahua. Its a chihuahua mixed with tibetan terrier and alaskan eskimo so its like a hairy chihuahua. Yes i already know you will tell me to keep it inside but i dont need those answers. What im asking is that is she ok to stay outside for winter. I have constructed an insulated dog house with a privacy space that blocks her from the wind. I will also add a heating lamp as well. Is this adequate enough to keep her warm in -20 celcius weather. past that i will bring her inside but i have to keep her in the kennel because she always gets attacked by the cat
She'll be fine. We have a chihuahua, jack russell mix and she stays outside full time.You may want to make sure she has extra food during the cold months, and plenty of fresh water.
