Question about having solid black in tattoos?

I want to get a skelanimal tattooed eventually in memory of my dog, and it has solid black area on it, and my husband said that I would have to go in several times to get it done because of it being solid black. I told him I don't think so, but I can't find something online to answer this question. It would only be about 3 or 4". Would it require several sittings for something so small or no?

Not at all. Any tattoo artist worth his salt can crack that out in one sitting. Maybe your husband just doesn't want you to get the tattoo, or perhaps he's just misinformed. Whatever the case, it can be done easily. Take care.
