Is it true the sun would appear as a star from Pluto?
The sun is star but would it appear as a bright star from Pluto or will you see a fiery ball?
At Pluto's current distance, the sun would take up just under 1 minute of arc (0.0166 degrees).
To put that into perspective, the moon takes up about 30 minutes of arc, so the sun would be 1/30th of that (disk diameter) than the moon appears to us.
One of the largest appearing stars in the sky (and it would appear the same to someone on Pluto) is Sirius, and it takes up about 83 microarcminutes, so the sun would appear as a disk 12,000 times wider than one of the largest (appearing) stars.
It would definitely be the brightest thing in the sky.
