What actual function does a HDMI cord/wire serve for flat screen TV? Specifically a Plasma TV?
Is it absolutely necessary?
I spent $50 on an HDMI cable to connect my Blu-Ray to my HDTV, and after trying different cables to see the difference, I'm never going back.
HDMI has better video, better audio, and they are synched together perfectly to bring you a much nicer HD experience. If you don't have Blu-Ray or PS3, it's not as valuable, because you won't use 1080p anyway. Regularly broadcasted HDTV is only 1080i.
