How to set up a double entry journal format on a mac computer?

I need to do an assignment in a double entry journal format. I have a mac computer. Does anyone know how to go about doing that. thanks

Yes - if you have "Office" or "Claris" or something - get the spread sheet - and you can program the cells to do anything you want.

Double entry - you enter an amount (money you paid the store) in the "Expense" column - and then have a series of columns called "Sears" and "Costco" and "Walmart" - and you put this figure in the right store column - add them up at the bottom.

Nobody uses double entry anymore - but back in the late Medieval times, it was a closely held secret of business - a really powerful tool of the original bankers.

Now everybody uses Quicken which automatically dumps your expense into the right column.
