What is the best Book series to use for teaching yourself piano?
I am 18 and recently I have rekindled an interest in playing the piano. I played for about a year back when I was 12 or so, and I have forgot some things. I don't have money so I can't hire a music teacher; though I think I'd do fine without one. I have a great deal of prior musical knowledge. I know how to read music, but only Treble Clef. I bought Bastien Piano Basics Piano, Primer Level, but the series seems a bit... young for me. There's goofy pictures everywhere and songs about caterpillars, hound dogs and stupid crap. I wanna learn chords and techniques, not how far some random frog can jump. Anyway, what is a good series for a self-teaching young adult to use?
The complete piano player by Kenneth Baker, Books 1,2 & 3.
Please dont buy books 4 & 5. You should know what you're doing by then.
Theory books MASTER YOUR THEORY by Dulcie Holland 1,2 & 3.
The complete piano player books use more modern songs to teach you with, things like Let it Be, Blue Moon, Im not in love, Wooden heart, Sailing, Spanish Eyes, By the time I get to pheonix, Somewhere over the rainbow etc etc....
You are way past kindlywink books! These books are specifically written for adults who want to teach themselves at home.
Please do get a teacher as soon as you can.
